I love my church. I love being around different people than BBC students but the BBC students I go with are so great that they just make church even better. This morning we continued talking about witnessing to lost people. God hits me in the gut with this almost every Sunday morning! There are so many people that don't know Jesus and it kills me to realize that I'm just sitting here in my own little bubble worrying about how I'm gonna pass my test tomorrow. It makes me realize how much I take advantage of being a Christian and my opportunity to go to church. We stay home from meetings because we have too much homework. But there are people around the world that would give up everything just to go to that one service we skip!
but then I think "Well, I go to a Christian school so there is no one to witness too. i don't have a job and I don't have a car to get a job to meet unsaved people." But that's such a lame excuse. There could easily be people at my school who need me to set an example of following God and that in and of itself is a stretching task. Also, I'm at walmart at least once a week where grabbing some tracts and passing them out would do a world of good. I get so convicted of this, but never seem to change my life after I leave church. It's so challenging!
This is week is kind of crazy. I have 2 tests, a major group project due, 3 quizzes, and 2 papers. Along with the never endind daily tast of practicing piano for our concert Dec 11 and 12. Wed night is small groups and Thursday night the girls from group are chilling. I'm wicked excited about that!
What do you guys think about me trying out to be an RA next year? There's a meeting if you're interested tomorrow night at 10pm. I might go....
Anyway, I'm just babbling. No church tonight. Working out, studying, going to bed early.

Novemeber 14, 2009- First Blog
So I decided to start a blog. I am laughing at myself because I remember sitting in Mr. Doan's Bible class when he told us he had a blog and how geeky and ridiculous that sounded to me. But I have two reasons for starting one.
1) Alot of people want to know things about my life in college and sadly I just don't have time to write everyone separately; so I figured this would help with that.
2) Sometimes I get over whelmed with my thoughts and feel like it would help to write them down. But then I feel like journaling is just wasting my time. So if I combine journaling with emails, we get a blog :)
I've titled my blog "Running the Race" because in Hebrews 12:1-3, it talks about running the race of life with endurance and perseverance. This verse is so encouraging to me and at this point in my life I can feel like I run in circles over and over again and never accomplish anything. I can feel like giving up. But "let us run with patience the race that is set before us" gives me the determination to keep on truckin along :)
Here it goes....
We have 10 days until thanksgiving break. I've almost completed a semester at Baptist Bible College in PA as a music major. For the most part it has been an amazing ride. Stretching, yes, but overall it has been great. For those of you who don't know, this is my first semester at college. It's the longest I've been away from home, a place that holds my life story. By God's strength alone I have adjusted very well to being away from family and friends, although two weeks ago I took a bus home because I missed it so much :) But for the most part I have done really well.
I have made many good friends from my dorm and even some from my major. I've been kidnapped three times and thrown into a bucket of ice once. I've seen hours on the clock that I have never seen before and have learned to drink as much coffee as my taste buds can take. My definition of "good food" has changed drastically, and even though the cafeteria food isn't horrible, I still crave my mom's homemade food.
I'm taking 18 credits and am involved in church ministry. I have chosen Summit Baptist Bible Church as my church here. It was really neat to choose a church by myself. I am part of Common Ground, the College and Career group there and have loved making friends outside of the BBC bubble :) On wed nights we have gone to the Rescue Mission and helped paint, and gone shopping at the Dollar Tree store to fill our Christmas boxes we're sending overseas. It has been so great!
I am doing well in my classes. The lowest I have scored on anything is a 69%-a Western Civilization test. But I have an A- so far in my musicianship class and nothing lower than a B in anything else. I am part of the Concert Choral, one of our three choirs, and am the accompianist for it. Even though I don't get to sing very much, it has been really cool to see and hear what a 'real" choir sounds like :) No more of forced high school-ers with bad attitudes! My piano lessons have also been very intense and according to my teacher, Dr. Kauffman, I am excelling very well.
My relationship with God has soarn through the roof. I still struggle with life, but I have learned so much about fighting Satan's temptations and running into God's arms. I wish I could tell you everything, but I will just have to start in the present or you would be here forever reading about the past 3 months.
This is longer than I thought it would be! i hoped you enjoyed my update so far and that you keep reading. I'm writing this for both of our sakes :)
